Hey Guys
I’m super excited to write this blog post, I have actually been looking forward to writing this blog for a few weeks now. But couldn’t until now, because I didn’t have the actual products with me to write about until yesterday when I finally got my hands on them (technically I got them over 2 weeks ago now, since I’m posting this later than the actual day I had planned).
So if y’all didn’t know I am obsessed with Maybelline products, I have to say it’s my favorite drugstore brand ever. So when I was looking at Ulta’s website over 2 months ago, I came across a new Maybelline product that I hadn’t seen/heard of before and knew I had to get my hands on it. And that product was the Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Gloss! I already have the Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm (including a couple of limited edition ones, so upon seeing this product I knew I had to have them. I love Maybelline products and so I wanted to try these out to see if they live up to the Maybelline Baby Lips name. At the time of purchase (from Ulta) they were on a special offer of Buy 1 get 1 at 50% off.
The product isn’t so new anymore as it’s been over 2 months since they were released, however, for those who live in the U.K (like myself) this is a new product for us. They haven’t been released in the U.K yet and I don’t know if they will be, since there quite a few of Maybelline products that haven’t made it across the pond for example, Maybelline’s bouncy blush, some of their Great Lash mascaras (Lots of Lashes, Real Impact, Big Washable mascara), Color Whisper by Color Sensational and others.
A little information about the product:
- There are 12 different shades
- The lip glosses have 3 different type of finishes – The Shimmers, The Creams and The Jellies
- Each lip gloss is 0.18 oz
- Non sticky formulae = 0% Sticky
- With vitamin E and caring oils
- Moisturizes, smooth and soften lips for up to 4 hours so lips never feel dry
All prices listed below are from the stores online websites:
- Ulta – $4.49
- Target – $3.49
- Walmart – $3.86 (Only 6 shades shown as available on their online website)
- Walgreens – $4.49
This post is not a review as I haven’t even used any of the lip glosses yet. The main purpose of this post is more of a first look to introduce you guys here in the U.K about this product. Also to anyone else who haven’t heard or seen this product. I will post pictures of lip glosses in the type of finishes they are The Shimmers, The Creams and The Jellies, as well as posting a picture of them individually so you can get a better view and have their names captioned underneath. I will also write the type of color they are since pictures don’t always do the actual product justice lighting wise.
*Side note: The lighting in the pictures of the lip glosses individually don’t all capture the lip glosses true color, so if you do buy them be warned that they may differ in person as opposed to the pictures.*
The picture above shows all 12 of the Baby Lips Lip Glosses that are currently available in stores in America.
The Shimmers
The 4 Lip Glosses in the picture above have a shimmer finish. They are categorized as “The Shimmers”
The first shimmer color is 05 – Just a Glimmer. It is a clear gloss, even though it doesn’t seem like it. It has iridescent purple glitter with a hint of blue as well, which can be seen when held in the light at an angle. If you look at the picture above you can kind of see the iridescent purple and blue glitter within the gloss.
The second shimmer color is 10 – A Wink Of Pink. It is a pinky red gloss, with hints of pink and gold iridescent glitter, which can be seen when held in the light at an angle. Although it a pinky red color, in the lighting the lip gloss color is more on the pink side hence the name “A Wink of Pink”.
The third shimmer color is 15 – Fuchsia Flicker. It is a pink gloss, when looked at the lip gloss closely you can pinky purple sparkly glitter within the tube, however, when held at a far distance angle in the light, it’s more of pink sparkly glitter rather than pinky purple.
The fourth and final shimmer color is 20 – Lilac Lumi. It is a purple gloss but has iridescent blue glitter within it, which you can see when held in the light at an angle. If you look at the picture above you can kind of see the iridescent blue glitter within the gloss. Out of all 4 shimmer glosses, this lip gloss seems to look the most pigmented from looking at the tubes not just because of the color. But also the fact that you can’t really seem the brush inside as opposed to the others.
The Creams
The 4 Lip Glosses in the picture above have a cream finish. They are categorized as “The Creams”
The first cream color is 25 – Taupe With Me. It is a light creamy brown tan color gloss. It has no sparkle, glitter or shimmer, it’s just a simple cream color gloss. The picture above makes the color look a little lighter than it is. If I was to compare the color to something, I would say its a little bit darker than MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW20 but more on the brown side when it comes to the color.
The second cream color is 30 – Pink-A-Boo. This particular lip gloss is a really soft yet pale baby pink color, because it is a cream gloss there is no shimmer, sparkle or glitter in this gloss as well. The lighting in the picture above makes the lip gloss look like it’s more of a peachy salmon color, but in person you can see that is not the case and that it’s a baby pink color hence the name “Pink-A-Boo”.
The third cream color is 35 – Life’s A Peach. This particular lip gloss is a mix of pinky peach color, because it is a cream gloss don’t expect any sparkle or shimmer to it. The lighting in the picture above also makes the lip gloss look like it’s more of a coral peach color, but in person you can see that is not the case and that it is a pinky peach color. (The lighting in the picture above doesn’t do the color justice, it’s actually one of my fav colors out of the whole collection).
The fourth and final cream color is 40 – Tickled Pink, this lip gloss is a cotton candy, bubblegum pink color. The lighting in the picture above also makes the lip gloss look a little more brighter than it actual is as opposed to if you were to see it in person which is not the case.
The Jellies
The 4 Lip Glosses in the picture above have a cream finish. They are categorized as “The Jellies”.
The first jelly color is 45 – Coral Craze. It is a somewhat clear gloss as you can see the wand inside the tube. This gloss has no sparkle or glitter, if anything it will have a shine to it after applying it. Looking at the picture above you can see it looks more on the orange side but in person it’s more of a coral peach color.
The second jelly color is 50 – Pink Pizazz. Even though it is a color gloss it seems to look like it might not be as pigmented when applying, making it seem more like a clear color gloss. Though this gloss has no sparkle or glitter it will have a slight sheen to it after applying because it is a gloss. Looking at the picture above the lighting is hitting the lip gloss tube directly making it look a little bit lighter than it actually is.
The third jelly color is 55 – Fab & Fuchsia. This is another somewhat clear gloss, which by the looks of it doesn’t seem to be. This is also another gloss that has no sparkle or glitter, if anything it will have a slight sheen to it after applying it. Looking at the picture above the lighting is also hitting the lip gloss tube directly making it look a little bit lighter than it actually is, in person it’s a little darker and looks more like a shocking/neon hot pink color gloss.
The fourth and final jelly color is 60 – Berry Chic. Another somewhat clear gloss, which by the looks of it doesn’t seem to be because of the strong color. This is also another gloss that if anything it will have a slight sheen to it after applying it. The picture above makes it seem more of orangey red but in person its plain red with no hints of any other color.

Also there’s a youtube named Vad is Rad who is a baby lips collector as well. You should check out her channel, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKN3xpiboxJAw2WWxbnBNrQ. If you get some extras of the winter delight, you can contract her and she will pay the price of the baby lips and shipping for her collection as well. 🙂
